Andrew Shue net worth is $20 million in 2026. He became famous playing Billy Campbell on the Fox drama “Melrose Place,” but his wealth comes primarily from a second career that has been far more lucrative than acting: the internet businesses that grew from ClubMom and CafeMom into CafeMedia, a major digital advertising company now known as Raptive.

    Andrew Shue net worth

    Quick Facts

    Full name Andrew Eppley Shue
Born February 20, 1967, Wilmington, Delaware
Occupation Actor, former professional soccer player, entrepreneur
Known for “Melrose Place,” CafeMom, Raptive
Net worth $20 million (Celebrity Net Worth estimate)

    Early Life

Andrew Eppley Shue was born on February 20, 1967, in Wilmington, Delaware, and grew up in South Orange, New Jersey. His father, James Shue, was a lawyer and real estate developer, and his mother, Anne, worked in banking. His older sister, Elisabeth Shue, became a successful actress known for films including “The Karate Kid,” “Adventures in Babysitting,” and “Leaving Las Vegas.” The family was devoted to soccer, and Andrew and Elisabeth both played competitively while growing up.

Shue attended Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, and went on to Dartmouth College. He played soccer for Dartmouth, earning regional All-America honors, and spent time studying and playing in Scotland with Queen’s Park. He graduated in 1989 with a degree in history. After college, he traveled to Zimbabwe, where he taught high school mathematics and played professional soccer.

    “Melrose Place” and Acting Career

Although he had appeared briefly in films during the 1980s, Shue did not initially plan to make acting his profession. According to an account he later shared, a talent representative approached his sister at a movie premiere in 1991 and asked whether Andrew was an actor. Elisabeth said that he was, helping set in motion an audition that changed his career.

In 1992, producer Aaron Spelling cast Shue as Billy Campbell in “Melrose Place,” a spin-off of “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Billy, an aspiring writer and generally sympathetic character, had a turbulent relationship with Alison Parker, played by Courtney Thorne-Smith. Shue remained a regular from 1992 through 1998, appearing across six seasons and becoming a recognizable television star. The show itself continued for a seventh season after his departure.

Shue also appeared in the 1997 Francis Ford Coppola legal drama “The Rainmaker,” opposite Matt Damon and Claire Danes, playing Cliff Riker, the abusive husband of Danes’ character. Rather than pursue another long-running television role, however, he increasingly concentrated on business, philanthropy, and projects outside Hollywood.

One of his most personal entertainment projects was the 2007 sports drama “Gracie,” which he developed and produced alongside relatives including Elisabeth and their brother John. Directed by his brother-in-law Davis Guggenheim, the film stars Carly Schroeder as a teenage girl who fights for the right to join a boys’ soccer team in the 1970s. Elisabeth Shue also stars, and Andrew appears as a soccer coach. The film drew on Elisabeth’s experience growing up as a talented female soccer player in a family of boys, and honored their older brother Will, a standout soccer player who died in an accident in 1988 at age 26.

    Professional Soccer Career

Soccer was a serious pursuit for Shue before and during his years as a television celebrity. While teaching in Zimbabwe after college, he played for the Bulawayo Highlanders, a club that won domestic league and cup honors during his time there. He subsequently made brief appearances in American indoor soccer, playing for Los Angeles United in 1993 and the Anaheim Splash in 1994.

In 1996, while “Melrose Place” was still on the air, Shue joined the Los Angeles Galaxy during Major League Soccer’s inaugural season. He recorded one assist in five league appearances, making him an unusual example of a network television star simultaneously competing in a major professional sports league. He remained affiliated with the Galaxy in 1997 but spent that season on injured reserve.

ClubMom, CafeMom, and the $100 Million Yahoo Offer

Shue’s most important financial success began with his friendship and business partnership with Michael Sanchez. In 1999, they launched ClubMom, an online service that offered parenting information, community features, and shopping rewards. In 2006, they co-founded CafeMom, an online community where mothers could exchange advice about pregnancy, children, relationships, health, and everyday family life. CafeMom became particularly valuable to advertisers because it reached a highly engaged audience that made many household purchasing decisions.

The company expanded beyond discussion forums into original editorial content, including the parenting and lifestyle blog “The Stir” and properties such as MamasLatinas and Baby Name Wizard. By 2008, the business had secured $17 million in venture financing from investors including Highland Capital Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. In 2010, technology journalist Kara Swisher reported that Yahoo was in talks to acquire CafeMom for a price near $100 million. The negotiations did not result in a sale, and reports at the time indicated CafeMom was seeking a substantially higher valuation.

By 2011, CafeMom was generating approximately $30 million in annual revenue, much of it from advertising. CafeMom’s original social-networking model eventually gave way to a bigger business opportunity: helping independent website owners earn advertising revenue. In 2016, CafeMedia acquired AdThrive, an advertising management platform serving publishers and content creators. A major financial milestone came in 2018, when private equity firm ZMC acquired a majority stake in CafeMedia, replacing its founding venture capital investors. That same year, CafeMedia sold its original consumer websites, including CafeMom, MamasLatinas, Revelist, and Baby Name Wizard, to RockYou. In 2023, CafeMedia and AdThrive were brought together under the name Raptive. In February 2026, Raptive reported that its network included approximately 6,500 websites reaching 224 million monthly unique visitors, and that it had paid out a cumulative $4 billion to publisher partners.

    Do Something and Civic Work

Alongside his acting and business careers, Shue has devoted considerable attention to volunteerism and public participation. In 1994, he and Sanchez co-founded Do Something, an organization designed to encourage young people to undertake community-service projects. The nonprofit became known for nationwide campaigns addressing issues such as homelessness, education, and charitable giving. Shue later helped co-found The People, a civic organization launched in 2018 that promotes community participation in public decision-making. He also founded The Forum, a nonpartisan initiative that organizes structured discussions among residents with different political views and seeks to bring their recommendations into the legislative process.

    Personal Life, Divorce, and Engagement

Shue married floral designer Jennifer Hageney in 1994. They had three sons, Nathaniel, Aidan, and Wyatt, before divorcing in 2008. In February 2010, Shue married television journalist Amy Robach, who had two daughters from her previous marriage. Their families blended during a marriage that lasted more than a decade.

In November 2022, Robach and her “GMA3” co-anchor T.J. Holmes made headlines when photographs revealed that they were romantically involved. Both were still legally married to other people, although Robach and Holmes later said they had separated from their spouses before beginning their relationship. Shue and Robach had separated earlier in 2022, and their divorce was finalized in 2023. Holmes’ marriage to immigration attorney Marilee Fiebig also ended in divorce. The story took an unexpected turn when Shue and Fiebig became close while navigating the aftermath of their respective marriages. Their friendship developed into a romantic relationship in 2023, and they began making occasional public appearances together. In an October 2026 interview with “People,” Shue confirmed that he and Fiebig had become engaged earlier that spring.

    Real Estate

Shue and Robach owned several significant New York properties during their marriage. In 2013, they were reported to be renting a five-bedroom triplex in Manhattan’s Financial District for $16,800 per month. In 2018, the couple purchased a full-floor apartment in Manhattan’s West Village for $4,012,500. They listed it for $5.2 million in September 2022, shortly before their separation became public. The apartment went under contract that November and ultimately sold for $5.1 million in February 2023. The couple also owned a 17-acre property in Garrison, New York, purchased in 2013 for $760,000. It was listed in 2023 for just under $4 million and sold in August of that year for $3.1 million.
