Aaron Paul net worth is $30 million in 2026. The figure comes from one of television’s great overnight transformations: a working actor who drove to Los Angeles with about $6,000 in savings and spent a decade in commercials and guest spots before Jesse Pinkman on “Breaking Bad” made him one of the most recognizable faces on television. Paul won three Primetime Emmy Awards for the role, earned a reported $200,000 per episode at the show’s peak, and has since built a second career as a producer, voice actor and spirits entrepreneur alongside co-star Bryan Cranston.

Early Life
Aaron Paul Sturtevant was born on August 27, 1979, in Emmett, Idaho. His parents are Darla and Robert Sturtevant, and his father was a Baptist minister. Aaron is the youngest of four children and was born prematurely in his parents’ bathroom.
Paul graduated from Centennial High School in Boise in 1997. Soon afterward, he drove to Los Angeles with approximately $6,000 in savings and began trying to establish himself as an actor. While pursuing auditions, he worked jobs including movie-theater usher at Universal Studios Hollywood. In January 2000, Paul appeared as a contestant on “The Price Is Right.” He made it to the Showcase Showdown but overbid.
Early Career
Before finding steady acting work, Paul competed in the International Modeling and Talent Association competition and was signed by a manager. His first professional credits included television commercials for Juicy Fruit, Corn Pops and Vanilla Coke, along with appearances in music videos. He appeared in Korn’s video for “Thoughtless” and Everlast’s “White Trash Beautiful.”
Small television roles followed on shows including “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “The X-Files,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “CSI: Miami,” “ER,” “Veronica Mars,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Criminal Minds” and “Bones.” Paul also accumulated supporting film roles in “Whatever It Takes,” “K-PAX,” “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder,” “Mission: Impossible III” and “The Last House on the Left.”
His most important pre-“Breaking Bad” television role came on HBO’s “Big Love.” Beginning in 2007, Paul played Scott Quittman, the boyfriend and eventual husband of Sarah Henrickson. He appeared in 14 episodes over several seasons and began attracting greater attention as a dramatic actor.
“Breaking Bad”
Paul’s career changed permanently when he was cast as Jesse Pinkman opposite Bryan Cranston’s Walter White in “Breaking Bad.” The series premiered on AMC in January 2008. Jesse was originally envisioned as a comparatively minor character, and creator Vince Gilligan initially considered killing him off early in the series. Paul’s performance and his chemistry with Cranston changed those plans. Jesse instead evolved into the show’s emotional counterweight to Walter White, moving from irresponsible small-time meth dealer to a deeply traumatized figure struggling with guilt, addiction, loyalty and survival.
Paul appeared throughout all five seasons of the series. His performance earned five Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and he won in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He also received Critics’ Choice, Satellite and Saturn Awards for his work. By the time “Breaking Bad” concluded in September 2013, Jesse Pinkman had become one of the most recognizable television characters of the era.
At the peak of “Breaking Bad,” Aaron Paul reportedly earned $200,000 per episode. The show’s final two seasons consisted of 13 episodes in season four and 16 episodes in season five, meaning that if Paul earned his peak salary across all 29 episodes, he would have collected approximately $5.8 million from those two seasons alone. That figure does not include his earnings from the show’s first three seasons, residuals, appearances, or his later return as Jesse Pinkman in “El Camino” and “Better Call Saul.”
Film Career After “Breaking Bad”
Paul attempted to establish himself as a movie leading man almost immediately after “Breaking Bad.” In 2014, he starred as Tobey Marshall in the video-game adaptation “Need for Speed.” That same year, he appeared in “Hellion,” “A Long Way Down” and Ridley Scott’s biblical epic “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” starring Christian Bale.
His later films included “Eye in the Sky,” “Central Intelligence,” “The 9th Life of Louis Drax,” “Come and Find Me,” “American Woman,” “The Parts You Lose” and “Dual.” Paul returned to science fiction in 2025 with “Ash,” directed by Flying Lotus. He starred opposite Eiza González as Brion, a mysterious rescuer who arrives at a remote space station after its crew has been violently killed. In 2026, Paul appeared with Russell Crowe, Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer and Nina Dobrev in the crime thriller “The Get Out,” playing one of the masked criminals whose robbery sets the film’s plot in motion.
“El Camino” and Return to Jesse Pinkman
Six years after “Breaking Bad” ended, Paul returned to Jesse Pinkman for “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.” Written and directed by Vince Gilligan, the 2019 Netflix film picks up immediately after the television finale and follows Jesse as he attempts to escape both law enforcement and the trauma of his captivity.
Paul later returned to the character once more in 2022 during the sixth and final season of “Better Call Saul.” Bryan Cranston also reprised Walter White, giving both actors a final opportunity to revisit their “Breaking Bad” characters within the franchise’s broader timeline.
“BoJack Horseman,” “The Path” and “Westworld”
Paul built an extensive television career outside “Breaking Bad.” From 2014 through 2020, he voiced Todd Chavez on Netflix’s animated series “BoJack Horseman.” Paul was also an executive producer of the series, giving him both a creative and financial role beyond voice acting.
In 2016, he began starring as Eddie Lane in Hulu’s “The Path,” a drama centered on members of a fictional spiritual movement. The show ran for three seasons. Paul joined HBO’s “Westworld” in 2020 as Caleb Nichols, a construction worker and former soldier who becomes involved in Dolores’ rebellion against the systems controlling human society. He remained part of the series through its fourth season in 2022.
His other television work included the first season of Apple TV+’s “Truth Be Told,” opposite Octavia Spencer, and the 2023 “Black Mirror” episode “Beyond the Sea.” In the latter, Paul starred opposite Josh Hartnett as one of two astronauts using artificial replicas to interact with their families on Earth.
Dos Hombres
One of the most financially significant developments of Paul’s post-“Breaking Bad” career has taken place outside acting. In 2019, Paul and Bryan Cranston co-founded Dos Hombres after bonding over a shared interest in mezcal. Rather than simply licensing their names to an existing spirits company, the actors traveled through Oaxaca searching for a producer and ultimately partnered with mezcalero Gregorio Velasco in San Luis del Río.
Dos Hombres launched with an Espadín mezcal and later added a limited-edition Tobalá. The company built national distribution and expanded internationally into markets including Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy and the United Arab Emirates. In 2021, Constellation Brands, the company behind brands including Corona and Modelo in the United States, acquired a minority stake in Dos Hombres. Paul and Cranston continued to operate and promote the company.
In December 2025, Dos Hombres raised another $15 million in growth equity to increase distribution, expand its sales organization and develop new products. That expansion became visible in 2026 when Dos Hombres moved beyond mezcal and launched tequila, introducing a Blanco followed by a Reposado and transforming Dos Hombres from a single-category mezcal company into a broader agave-spirits business. Their exact ownership percentages and the company’s private valuation have not been publicly disclosed, but Dos Hombres represents a potentially valuable equity asset in addition to Paul’s entertainment earnings.
Personal Life
Paul married filmmaker and activist Lauren Parsekian in May 2013. The two initially met at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and became engaged in Paris in 2012. They have two children. Parsekian co-founded the Kind Campaign, a nonprofit organization focused on combating bullying among girls. Paul has actively supported the organization. In 2013, a fundraising contest tied to the “Breaking Bad” finale raised approximately $1.8 million for the campaign.
In November 2022, Aaron legally changed his surname from Sturtevant to Paul. His wife and children also use the Paul surname.
Real Estate
In 2012, Paul paid $1.4 million for a home above the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. He listed this home for sale in 2019 for $2.5 million and sold it in 2020 for $2.2 million. In April 2019, Aaron paid $6.95 million for a home in Los Angeles. The seller was actor Jim Parsons. The historic Los Feliz property sits on roughly 1.5 acres and includes a Spanish-style residence with elaborate tilework, stained glass, gardens and a hidden speakeasy. In July 2025, Aaron listed the home for $9.995 million. After a series of price reductions, the asking price reached $7.5 million in August 2026, at which point the property quickly entered a contingent purchase agreement, and within a few weeks, the home closed at $7.495 million.
In 2021, Paul and Lauren paid $3.5 million for a 24-acre property in Ojai, California, roughly two hours north of Los Angeles. In 2014, Paul and Lauren bought a home in Boise, Idaho. In 2022, they listed the property for sale at $1.35 million. They ultimately pulled the listing and retained the property. They also own a much larger estate near McCall, Idaho, roughly 2.5 hours north of Boise. The five-acre property originally included an approximately 8,700-square-foot residence. Paul and Parsekian spent several years extensively renovating and expanding the home, working with local craftspeople and incorporating reclaimed materials throughout. The finished property includes a dramatic stone-and-wood interior, views of Payette Lake, extensive entertaining space and a sauna. The couple showed the completed home to “Architectural Digest” in 2020.
