Vanessa Trump has a net worth of $75 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The American former model, entrepreneur and heiress built it through modelling, a Manhattan nightclub and handbag business — and, most significantly, a family investment in Rao’s Homemade pasta sauce that turned roughly $1 million into a fortune.

Early Life
Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi was born on 18 December 1977 in New York City and raised on Manhattan’s Upper East Side alongside her sister, Veronika. Her mother, Bonnie Kay Haydon, operated the modelling agency Kay Models. Vanessa later adopted the surname Haydon from her stepfather, Charles Haydon, a prominent New York attorney — sometimes incorrectly described as her biological father. Her maternal grandfather was Danish jazz musician Kai Ewans, after whom she later named her eldest daughter. She attended The Dwight School in Manhattan, where she played tennis, and later studied psychology at Marymount Manhattan College.
Career
Vanessa began modelling young, benefiting from her mother’s industry connections, and worked professionally as Vanessa Haydon, represented at various points by Wilhelmina and Next Model Management. Her modelling career included runway work and international fashion events, including Australian Fashion Week in 1998, and a small role in the 2003 romantic comedy “Something’s Gotta Give,” starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton.
In 2003, Vanessa and her sister Veronika opened a Manhattan nightclub, Sessa. Several years later she moved into fashion accessories with La Poshett, a handbag line she operated from roughly 2010 through 2013.
Marriage to Donald Trump Jr.
Vanessa met Donald Trump Jr. at a fashion event in 2003, after his father introduced them — twice at the same event, by Vanessa’s account, because he had forgotten the first introduction. They began dating weeks later, and Donald Jr. proposed in November 2004 with a diamond ring valued at approximately $100,000. The couple married on 12 November 2005 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and had five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe. Vanessa filed for an uncontested divorce in March 2018, and the divorce was finalised by the end of that year, with the couple maintaining an amicable co-parenting relationship. Their eldest daughter, Kai Trump, developed into a competitive golfer and began playing collegiate golf at the University of Miami in 2026.
The Rao’s Pasta Sauce Fortune
The most important source of Vanessa Trump’s independent wealth came from a family investment in pasta sauce. The Rao’s Homemade packaged-food business was established years after the famous East Harlem restaurant opened in 1896. In 1992, Charles Haydon reportedly invested approximately $1 million in Rao’s Specialty Foods for a reported 30% ownership stake — an interest in the commercial sauce business, not the restaurant itself.
Charles died in 1995, and his 30% interest was reportedly divided equally between Vanessa and her mother, leaving each with approximately 15%. In 2017, Sovos Brands acquired Rao’s Specialty Foods; although the parties did not publicly disclose the terms, contemporary reports placed the transaction value at approximately $415 million. At that valuation, a 30% family stake would have been worth approximately $124.5 million before taxes and transaction adjustments — and Vanessa’s gross portion, if she and her mother still owned equal halves, approximately $62 million before taxes. The timing drew attention during her 2018 divorce, when Donald Jr.’s attorneys sought disclosure of her finances shortly after reports of the Rao’s windfall became public. Sovos later became a publicly traded company, and Campbell Soup completed its acquisition of the entire Sovos business in 2024 in a transaction valued at more than $2 billion.
Recent Years
Vanessa largely stayed out of the spotlight following her divorce while raising her children in Florida. In early 2025, reports emerged that she was dating golfer Tiger Woods; Woods publicly confirmed the relationship in March 2025 on Instagram. In May 2026, Vanessa publicly disclosed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, saying she had undergone a medical procedure and was working with her doctors on a treatment plan, and asked for privacy while undergoing treatment. She continued making public appearances during her recovery, including supporting Kai as her daughter prepared to begin college.
Vanessa Trump’s story — modelling, marriage into a famous family, and an independent fortune from a food investment — stands apart from most models’ careers, though her early modelling work ran alongside those of Hailey Clauson, Crystal Harris and Josie Maran.
